Hi, I’m Penny. I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC since 2020, with experience of working in mental health settings dating back to 2012. I have worked in both NHS and private sector settings with adults and children, and am experienced in supporting people with neurodiversity. I specialise in working with adults (18+) who are experiencing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing, especially those experiencing psychosis, bipolar, and various presentations of anxiety including general anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, stress and post-traumatic responses.
I take an integrative approach, incorporating elements from different evidence-based psychological frameworks including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), psychodynamic therapy and other relational approaches. I aim to be flexible within my approach, tailoring our work together to your preferences and needs, with a focus on personal recovery.
Therapy is a collaborative process, where together we will explore and aim to understand what is keeping your difficulties going, and work to prevent unhelpful patterns from recurring. You will always be at the centre of the process, and I will support you at your pace, offering guidance along the way.
Clinical Psychology has always been an immense interest and passion of mine. I feel privileged to work with people who are courageous enough to share their difficulties and motivated to actively work towards overcoming them. I bring curiosity, empathy, compassion and collaboration into the therapeutic space to create a secure and supportive environment.
I also believe in practicing what I preach when it comes to self-care and stress-relief! In my free time I enjoy reading detective novels (and am always happy to swap book recommendations), walking, and spending time with friends, family and dogs."
